Africa grants programme

Our programme is closed to applications at present. We hope to have an update for prospective new applicants in Autumn 2025.  If you are a current recipient of a multi-year grant, be assured that the terms and conditions of your grant are unchanged.

As this is a small charity, we do not have the resources to communicate with prospective new applicants until we have a clear message for you. Thanks for your understanding.

Over recent years our funding to community groups has helped to support sustainable livelihoods with an emphasis on projects that benefit women and young people.  We are currently funding four organisations:

Danwadaag Relief Alliance, working in Somalia, helps women to set up Village Savings and Loans Associations.

Salaam Junub in South Sudan is supporting former child soldiers and survivors of gender based violence to develop small businesses.

Siiqqee Women’s Development Association in Ethiopia supports internally displaced women with business training and loans.

The Mango Tree in Kenya runs a project called Our Lives Our Land, which is being handed over to the local community group, Mango Tree Kenya, as the UK arm of The Mango Tree steps back.
